The 4WD system on the 2012 Kia Sportage sends most of the engine's output to the front wheels under normal conditions. The system can even transfer as much as half of the engine's power to the rear wheels when the front wheels slip.
 
At speeds below 20 mph, the driver can lock the driveline into a 50/50 power split by pressing a button on the dashboard. When driving through dirt roads and heavy snowfall terrains, the 2012 Kia Sportage offers 7.7 inches of ground clearance thereby making travel easier.  This should be great news for Vermont Kia enthusiasts given all the snow we received last year.

Available in the LX and EX trims, the 2012 Kia Sportage comes well equipped with side-impact airbags, side-curtain airbags, traction control, stability control, and four-wheel-disc antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution.

A fully independent MacPherson-strut front suspension and dual-link rear suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars comes handy in smoothing out all bumps on the road.
