2013 KIA OPTIMA GRABS IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK PLUS

January 14th, 2013 by

We here at Berlin City Kia VT have honestly lost count of all the reasons we love the 2013 Kia Optima. A few examples that often compel drivers from the greater Burlington and Plattsburgh area to take it for a spin include:

Four trim levels to fit nearly any budget
Two fun and efficient engine choices
A standard six-speed automatic transmission
102.17 cubic feet of passenger volume
And standard Bluetooth connectivity
And as if we actually needed another to add to our list, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the midsize sedan with its top honor.

Wasn’t it already named a Top Safety Pick?

That it was…back when that was the highest rating the IIHS gave out. These days, however, there’s a new one that’s one notch higher: Top Safety Pick+. And the Kia Optima is among the first vehicles to drive off with it.

To earn the Top Safety Pick+ designation, the 2013 Kia Optima had to achieve the same four out of five top “Good” ratings in the moderate overlap front, side, rollover and rear crash tests. What sets the + rating apart is that it also requires at least an “Acceptable” rating in the small overlap test, which doesn’t carry as much weight otherwise.

If you’re looking to stay safe on the road, Berlin City Kia VT highly suggests learning more about the 2013 Optima or any other new Kia for that matter. We’ll be happy to set you up for a test drive at 586 Marshall Ave Williston, VT 05495 and answer any questions that may be on your mind after.
