LIGHTLY MODIFIED KIA SOUL TO MAKE WORLDWIDE DEBUT AT 2013 NY AUTO SHOW
Innovative auto brand Kia knows that once you have a good thing, there’s really no need to change it, and the brand is proving this philosophy with the 2014 Kia Soul. The new Soul is set to make its worldwide debut at the 2013 NY Auto Show next month, and it has quite a surprise in store for attendees.
What’s the big surprise? Well, since the Soul hasn’t seen many stylistic edits since it was first introduced to the U.S. in 2009, it’s interesting that the 2014 features very few changes. Usually, vehicles are significantly updated every four to six years, so the Soul is going against that trend with its small, evolutionary redesign. In fact, a Kia insider reports, it will be difficult to tell the differences between the current 2013 Kia Soul and the 2014 model unless they are lined up side-by-side.
As for the rumors that have been circulating for quite some time now regarding a second Soul model (convertible, three-door hatchback, or pickup-like variant), those are still unconfirmed, and some Kia insiders have even hinted that the project has been put on the backburner.
